Ice Skating

On Carinthia’s most beautiful natural ice surfaces

The lakes of our region invite you to ice skate and walk. Enjoy the beautiful, well-kept and mirror smooth polished ice rinks.

Lake Pressegger See, the second largest lake in the region, is one of the first to freeze over. As early as the end of December, it reliably gets an ice cover and offers circular rinks (2,5 km long), curling rinks and ice hockey surfaces.

At Lake Weißensee pleasure ice skaters will find the largest natural ice surface in Europe (6.5km²). Every year in January, Lake Weissensee is part of the Dutch 11-city tour, where about 3000 ice skating enthusiasts come to the lake and take part in speed skating marathons.
